CRITICAL REFLECTION #1

The goal that I have set for this module were to participate in discussions and activities to gain knowledge in daily applications. To me, I would say that I have achieved this goal and input relevant ideas and views to share with different teams to work with. I find myself being more critical about grammar errors and sentence structures in passages. Being more critical, this encouraged me to be more polished when it comes to writing accurately. With more practice, I believe by inputting what I learn from or change my mistakes in language writing from this module into daily application, be it school or at work, I can improve my language on a daily basis.
The project has made me learn how to work correctly in a team by sharing ideas and constructing the report from scratch. Of course, the amount of time and effort put into the report is very tedious and requires lots of research, the accomplishment when it is completed felt really encouraging and motivating. Although there were challenges during the process of constructing the report, such as finalising our problem and purpose statement and keeping track on the structure of the report, we had overcame them. I would say the research progress in finding accurate information were the most difficult as our project is based on inventing a machine that is not in the current market. The reports we find can also be very lengthy and requires lots of reading. After all, the team that I worked with, were very enthusiastic and hardworking, which motivated me to overcome the challenges. In conclusion, all these experiences has contributed to this positive result and being selected to present for the final showcase, is truly an act of recognition of our work. Although I have done many presentations during my polytechnic days, the feeling of nervousness towards presenting in front of a crowd is still present. I would like to improve on my presentation skills and present in front of a crowd without feeling any kinds of negative energy during the final showcase.
To conclude, I would like this project experience to input into projects from other modules and enhance my learning progress throughout the rest of my university years.

  2. Hi Angie! I am glad to hear that you have successfully completed what you have set for yourself at the start of this course. I believe that being able to spot one's own writing mistakes is very important and it is great that you managed to improve in that aspect. Seeing you work hard and diligently, it is of no doubt that you and your team would be one of the selected groups to present in the showcase. You did an amazing job during the showcase and I personally think that in a short span of time, you have improved greatly from the final presentation to the showcase. I am sure that you will continue to improve in the future! :)
